Connecting to public WiFi networks may require accepting terms and conditions before gaining internet access. These are called Captive Portals, and are used at airports, hotels, and more.


Zscaler is our required internet security solution that provides protection while browsing the internet. Follow these steps to connect to public WiFi with Zscaler:


If you run into any issues, you can disconnect and reconnect to the public WiFi to restart this process.




1. Connect to the WiFi - Zscaler will detect if a Captive Portal is required to connect to the internet. You may see this notification from Zscaler. 




2. Open your web browser (Edge, Chrome)You can use the "Open Browser" option on the Zscaler notification, or just open your web browser. You may see some notifications from Zscaler about capturing packets and "Internet Security is Disconnected". This is expected and part of the process. 





3. Complete the Captive Portal requirements - Accept their terms and conditions and/or sign into the public WiFi. 



4. Connected to the Internet. -  Once you meet the network's requirements, you will be connected to the Internet. Zscaler will reconnect and enable Internet Security
