To further secure company data on mobile devices, we are releasing an enhancement to our IT Security configuration supporting Microsoft applications being accessed on mobile devices.


This article outlines the steps for how configure your smartphone to the new policy.


The process is different between Apple and Android devices.  

The next time you open Outlook or Teams on your mobile device, the application will prompt you that a change has been made and to follow a few steps to restore access.  

The following steps will need to be completed prior to gaining access.


Steps for iPhone/iOS:

- Open Outlook or Teams

- This message will appear: 

- Select "Sign out."

- This next message will appear. Select "OK."


- The Outlook or Teams app will then close. Reopen the app and you will be prompted to create a PIN.

- The PIN has to be 6 numbers or more and will have to be entered twice. 

- After you create your PIN, you will be signed into the app you are using, Outlook or Teams, and the process is completed. 


Please note: Microsoft Edge for iPhone is required to be installed. Please install the app from the App Store.

Adobe Reader: In order to share files from Outlook and OneDrive to Adobe reader please ensure you sign into the app as your Patriot account. Once signed in, goto your account in the top right, click on preferences and turn on Microsoft Intune at the bottom of the screen. 




Steps for Android/Google/Samsung:

- Open Outlook or Teams.

- A message will appear. Select "Go to Store."

- The Google Play app will open and take you to the Intune Company Portal app install page. Select "Install."

- After the Intune Company Portal is installed, select "Open." The app will open but you will then close it and open Outlook or Teams (open the app you started with).

- Next you will be prompted to create a PIN. The PIN has to be 6 numbers or more and will have to be entered twice. 

- Lastly, after you create your PIN, you will be signed into the app you are using, Outlook or Teams.

- Please note: If you get a message with the title: "Allow Nearby Devices Access," select "Cancel."
